Dinefwr

Nestled within the ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows of the Dinefwr Estate, our newest Seed + Root Nature School site is beginning to take shape. Beneath the canopy of centuries-old oaks, we’re busy crafting a wild and wonder-filled space where children and families can come to explore, play, and connect deeply with nature.
We are delighted to open the gates to you, and invite you to grow with us where roots run deep and childhood leads the way.

Our sessions at Dinefwr are now available to book.

About our site

Our site is transient and very much shaped by the children and their ideas. We currently have a mud kitchen, a water play area, a small growing garden, small wildlife pond, a fire circle, sheltered area with community closet, nature museum, and tables. We also have an elevated area with our 'Father Oak' tree. We have storage in the barn but this is not accessible to participants. We have the use of toilets which are separate to the site but just a 30 second walk away.

Our site it for our exclusive use and is not used by any other groups. We are very lucky with our site's location and have access to the woodland, deer park, meadows and castle, however we have to use these sites as visiting members of the public.  Dinefwr have kindly allowed participants of Seed + Root Nature School CIC to park for free during our sessions.

What's Included in a Seed + Root Session?

We are a community non-profit and we always make the costs of our sessions as reasonable as possible whilst maintaining a quality service with highly qualified and trained facilitators, an inspiring environment, and the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills. We aim to build a community around a collective goal - to live in harmony with nature, the land, and each other.

During every session with Seed + Root, you will have access to free parking, accessible toileting facilities, hot drinks, nutritious food (as often as we can), crafts to take home or to leave on site (providing a sense of belonging to all), and our 'take what you need, leave what you can' community closet.

Pay It Forward Tickets

We know time's are tough and many of us are struggling, but we feel that everyone should have equal access to outdoor education and play.  We are continuously looking for funding streams and ways to make sessions more affordable, but we could also use your help.

All of our sessions have a 'Pay It Forward' option where you can buy a ticket that will give another family a discounted rate, enabling them to access our sessions where they otherwise couldn't. These tickets are discretionary, confidential, and optional. Please only purchase a PIF ticket if you have the means to do so. Your generosity can have a huge impact on a struggling family.
