Earth Guardians Home Education Sessions
Our Home Educated integrated sessions are specially designed for children educated other than at school, for children aged 4–12, offering a rich blend of nature-based play, exploration, and seasonal activities.
Rooted in an ethos of experiential learning, child-led discovery, and deep respect for the natural world, our sessions nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Through hands-on experiences like den building, fire lighting, tool use, nature crafts, storytelling, and wild play, children learn by doing — building real-life skills and meaningful connections with each other and the environment.
These are mixed-age, inclusive sessions where children aged 4–12 learn together in a supportive, collaborative environment. Younger and older siblings are always welcome, and under 4s attend free of charge.
Sessions run in all weathers (except extreme conditions), embracing the rhythm of the seasons and the many ways they shape our learning and play.
Parents/carers must stay with their child during these sessions.
Tree Keepers - Family Session
Our family session runs on a Saturday afternoon from 2pm-4pm and aimed towards children up to age 6.
Join us for an fun and enriching forest school session for all the family, held at our site on the Dinefwr estate. These sessions are designed to bring families together through experiential learning, playful exploration, and connection with the natural world.
Each week, children and grown-ups alike can enjoy:

🔥 Campfire activities – learn to light fires safely, cook simple snacks, or gather and share stories
🌲 Free play encouraging creativity, confidence, and resilience
Our sessions are rooted in a forest school ethos, nurturing curiosity and care for the environment while supporting social skills and emotional wellbeing.
Whether you're building dens, creating woodland art, or simply soaking in the peace of the forest, there’s something for every member of the family.
Parents/carers must stay with their child during these sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Sessions take place entirely outdoors and in all weathers. Dress in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting wet or muddy. Children should bring spare clothes to change into and a spare pair of shoes. Long sleeves and trousers are also advised due to the nature of our site. Wellies and waterproofs should be worn in wet weather.

Where do I park?
Parking is in the main car park at Dinefwr. Parking is free for the duration of your session.
Are there toilets?
Yes - We have access to a toilet block just a short distance outside of our site.
What happens at a session?
Every session is unique and shaped by the children themselves. We offer a range of activities which the children are free to engage with. Forest School is a child-led approach meaning they can choose how and where they play. They do not have to engage in any activity that they don't want to but we gently encourage children to have a go when they are ready. We gather in a circle to introduce some activities and to end each session with a song and our closing of the fire ritual.
What if it's raining?
We have a sheltered space for activities to continue running in the rain. Those who want to continue their play out in the rain are able to. We embrace the mud at Seed + Root and utilise it as a natural play resource! Sessions may be cancelled in strong winds and when flooding is predicted.
